To get the latest surf report you literally could just lift yourself up in your bed and take a look out the window at Playa Colorado. You can be the first surfer out if you like and then take a break between sessions for lunch or a siesta. And you will have the sunset session all to yourself when others leave before it gets dark.
This is arguably one of the best beach breaks in Nicaragua, if not in Central America. Colorado breaks over sand bars made from the river mouth, and works at all tides, all year. Both left and right barrels, with the left being the most epic on a south swell. It can get funneled into A-Frame peaks groomed to perfection by the constant offshore wind. Nicaragua is blessed with an abundance of good waves, 330 days of offshore winds, and sunny weather almost all year-round. The surf rarely drops below 2 feet and it can get up to 12 feet from April through October. There are 4 bicycles to use for free and 3 beach chairs.
